The Month of Browns

November is a halfway month, halfway between fall and winter; halfway between the reds and gold of October and the grays of December … It is the month of browns. ~ Haydn S. Pearson

Yes, November here starts out fairly golden, glowing with the last glance of the sun, sometime blinding us with luminous adornment; and it ends quite grey, the trees stark and bare, the icy ground hard, the air carrying tiny frosted shards.

For now, it’s mostly browns. Beige, buff, camel, taupe, copper, sepia, umber, russet, sienna. They seem to describe well the times.
